DALLAS, TX — A woman was injured Wednesday morning when the elevator she was riding made an abrupt stop, according to reports. The malfunction was at the Bank of America plaza in the 900 block of Main Street.
Dallas News reported firefighters responded around 9:20 a.m. It was originally thought that the elevator had fallen, but officials learned that the car had come to an abrupt stop.
Apparently, a safety mechanism detected an anomaly, which caused it to bring the elevator to a stop.
The woman was hospitalized with minor injuries, according to Dallas News. She was freed from the elevator on the 70th floor.
The woman’s name was not released.
